ESPN3 now on Time Warner Cable

Time Warner Cable has added ESPN3. Time Warners customers who receive ESPN as part of their video subscription will have access to a live simulcast of ESPN on their computers as well as access to ESPN3.com.

ESPN3.com features more than 3,500 live sporting events annually. Fans can toggle between up to 20 events in a main viewing window, and with a single click, jump to another event. Video can be viewed in widescreen (16:9) and normal (4:3) views and can be expanded to full screen or reduced to a compact size. Recently completed events are archived and available for on-demand replay.

Customers can also go directly to ESPNnetworks.com or ESPN3.com to register or sign in and view the programming.

At launch, the new authenticated service will give Time Warner Cable subscribers the opportunity to watch ESPN’s linear network online. In the near future, access to ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN Goal Line and ESPN Buzzer Beater will also be offered through this same process, as well as on other Internet enabled devices such as mobile phones and tablets. Consumers can access the channels through a centralized web site, ESPNnetworks.com.

sweet! I was wondering when this would go into effect. Great when your local newspaper provides info you looked all over the internet to find. Thanks Langston!

I do think its sad that high-speed internet(only) customers cant get it. I think it should be open to all TW customers

It's briefly mentioned but not really explained, just being a Time Warner Cable customer does NOT get you access to ESPN3. You must subscribe to ESPN through Time Warner Cable to access the full features of ESPN3.

Just subscribing to internet through TWC does not allow you access to ESPN3, just having basic cable with TWC does not give you ESPN3. You must have a television package with TWC that contains ESPN to receive access on your internet to ESPN3.

This should be illegal. There are no real options for internet for people concerned with speed. DSL is about 1/10th as fast as cable internet. Satellite is even slower and unable to support online gaming.

TWC has an internet monopoly and as such should not be allowed to provide a fractured internet to their customers. It's unbelievable to me that paying $40 a month does not grant me full internet access unless I have a $60 a month tv package.

Go to hell TWC.

Anthony, this information has been everywhere for two weeks now. I saw it in the USA Today, TWC began allowing access to ESPN3 on Oct 25th. Langston isn't really ahead of any ball here, although it's nice of him to run a TWC advert in his space.

Whoops, I didn't realize this was an old article. Looks like Langston and USA Today ran with this news at the same time, my bad.
