According to Engadget, AT&T UVerse customers will be able to use their Xbox 360 as a set-top box in November.
A wired software update will come out next week bringing a Dashboard app to the Xbox. To use Xbox with UVerse, however, customers will still need at least one other standard DVR to enjoy the four streams of HD programming available.

Is it expected to do the same for the PS3 at some point in time??
The point is obvious. If you have a 360, you don't have to shell out for another set top.
POINT: how about extra DVR room being able to save content to your xbox. xbox also supports expandable harddrives so think about a 1TB harddrive to save your content to. one less thing to hook up. being able to go from a game to watching tv without switching. as they play around with features i think some fun and helpful features will come out of this.
I really wouldn't risk red ringing my Xbox with the Uverse connection. Plus, I have an employee Sling receiver from DISH Network that has a built in 1TB hard drive and I can stream live and recorded TV to my mobile devices. I would I give that up to use my Xbox as a receiver? In case on is interested, DISH is offering new customers up to three HD receivers for free!
