New iPhone software due today (6/17)

While many wait for the iPhone 3G-S this weekend, other current iPhone user are going to get some features they've waited a long time for with the release of new software today.

iPhone users can get it via iTunes.

The 3.0 software includes new search features that will search your entire iPhone, peer to peer gaming and the ability to cut and paste or buy and view movies and TV shows from the handset. The new software will also allow users to turn the handset sideways to make typing emails and texts a little easier. Other features include a voice memo recorder, better internet browsing and Bluetooth support.

For those that grab it, would love to hear your experiences.

It's 7am and it's not out yet. I'm sure some users would love to download before they head out to work.

Thanks Apple...slackers!

It probably won't be out until at least 11 AM EDT. That's about the time it came out last year when the iPhone 2.0 software was released.

When can iPhone users get hooked up with Outlook?

The iPhone already does ActiveSync to Exchange Servers... been doing that since 2.0 came out last year.

Amen on Outlook. Would also like to see the Iphone able to handle Java. These two things keep me from working on my Iphone.

Where can you find the update?

It's not publicly available yet. I found it from a forum posting on MacRumors.com (search on "ipsw" and you should be able to find it).

Or you could wait another hour or so... looks like it might be available through iTunes at 1 PM EDT.

I think that the new iPhone software is one of the best one in the world, I like this cellphone because its software update officially announced, which was the first iOS software update leaving out the support of iPhone 3G.!!!
