Even in a down economy, people still appear to like Apple's iPhone.
The company's new iPhone 3GS model debuted last weekend, for $199 or $299, and Apple reports it sold one million of them in the first three days. It also said that six million customers downloaded the new iPhone 3.0 software for older iPhones in the first five days of its release.
The Palm Pre, in comparison, sold about 100,000 in its first weekend.

I have a Treo 650.
It is built like Rachael Maddow, for punishment in the field.
I Phones are great but no one is really privy to the information I am about to relay.
There is a chip in the new I phone, and second generation as well that is manufactured by Cyberdyne Systems.
Thee phones are pre programmed for self awareness at the end of the governor of California's term.
Just kidding. My woman has one, it was mailed to her pre release.
It's fast and sleek, and new and great but in the end it is just a phone. Folks standing in line for phones and videos games is the surest indicator of the direction of out great countries decline.
Cenzo just doesn't get it, apparently. People standing in line for phones and video games are EXACTLY what our great consumer economy, this model of free enterprise capitalism, is all about. We're in decline, because we're doing exactly what our great capitalist leaders, political and economic, tell us to do? How naive.
After all, once you get past selling stuff to each other, what really does America stand for? Commerce, that's what. We have very little else left.
